Pilot Cup Soccer Tournament Founder Kirk McIntosh Honored With Mayor’s Award

On Tuesday June 7, Costa Mesa Mayor Steve Mensinger honored longtime resident Kirk McIntosh with the Mayor’s Award for his years of involvement as the director of the annual Pilot Cup soccer tournament.

2019 Daily Pilot Cup coverage

The Daily Pilot covered 24 matches during the 20th annual youth soccer tournament in Costa Mesa and wrote a feature, a preview and a column on the six-day event.

Costa Mesa Sonora Elementary third-grader Natalie Hernandez may be playing in her first Daily Pilot Cup, but the center midfielder is a fierce competitor.

Winners will receive commemorative medals and goody bags. Most exciting of all, winning teams will be able to show off the Pilot Cup Perpetual Trophy Award at their school for one year!
